Meet the team

Paul is a Managing Director in Corporate Advisory for MA Moelis Australia.

He is Head of Corporate Finance and focuses on capital solutions and mergers & acquisitions across a broad range of industries.

Paul has been with MA Moelis Australia since it was established and has over 17 years’ experience in investment banking.

Prior to joining MA Moelis Australia, he was previously at J.P. Morgan in their real estate M&A team.

Paul has a Bachelor of Commerce with distinction from University of New South Wales.

Ben is a Managing Director in Corporate Advisory for MA Moelis Australia.

He is Head of Technology and covers the technology sector advising clients on a broad spectrum of transactions involving equity capital markets and M&A.

Ben has been with MA Moelis Australia since it was established and over 20 years’ experience in investment banking and accounting.

Prior to joining MA Moelis Australia, he was previously in the investment banking team at JPMorgan and prior to that at PwC.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of New South Wales and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants ANZ.

Ben is a Managing Director in Corporate Advisory for MA Moelis Australia.

He is Head of Real Estate and has experience spans across M&A, IPOs, listed equity raisings, wholesale capital raising, debt and strategic advisory.

Ben has over 20 years’ experience in investment banking.

Prior to joining MA Moelis Australia, he was Managing Director and Head of Real Estate, Gaming and Lodging for Bank of America Merrill Lynch Australia. Prior to that, Ben worked at UBS and Citi in Australia.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of New South Wales.

Colin Richardson is a Managing Director at MA Financial Australia.

Colin has over two decades of investment banking experience advising clients on mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory transactions across a variety of industries. He was most recently a Managing Director at Rothschild and was previously a Managing Director and Head of M&A for Australia and New Zealand at Citigroup and a Managing Director in M&A at Deutsche Bank. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Colin worked at SG Hambros, formerly known as Hambros Bank, in Australia and the UK.​

Colin holds a B.A. from Hull University.

Eric is a Managing Director in Corporate Advisory for MA Moelis Australia.

He covers the ECM Syndication efforts and has over 20 years’ experience in ECM and equity sales.

Prior to joining MA Moelis Australia, he worked at Macquarie for close to 12 years. His most recent position was Small & Emerging Co Sales, Origination & Corporate Broking where he liaised extensively with institutions and management teams of smaller cap Australian corporates. Prior to this, he was responsible for Macquarie’s international equities distribution efforts in North America.  Eric has spent close to 20 years working in New York and London for Macquarie, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Western Australia.

David is a Managing Director in Corporate Advisory for MA Moelis Australia.

He focuses on Equity Capital Markets and high growth companies and has over 20 years’ experience in investment banking and capital markets.

Prior to joining MA Moelis Australia, he worked for Morgans as a Corporate Advisory Director and before that, held a similar role at Shaw and Partners.

David holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from the University of Technology Sydney and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants ANZ.

Matthew is a Managing Director in Corporate Advisory for MA Moelis Australia

He focuses on private capital markets across both debt and equity.

Matthew has over 20 years’ experience in investment banking in the US, Europe, Asia and Australian markets.

Prior to joining MA Moelis Australia, he worked for Houlihan Lokey as a Managing Director and Credit Suisse as Co-Head of Debt & Derivatives.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants ANZ.

Steven is a Managing Director in Corporate Advisory for MA Moelis Australia.

He has over 20 years’ of investment banking experience and extensive experience across healthcare / Med-Tech, retail and general industrial sectors.

Prior to joining MA Moelis Australia, Steven worked with CIMB / RBS as a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Group.

Bachelor of Commerce (Honours First Class) and Bachelor of Science from the University of Melbourne.

Brodie is a Managing Director in Corporate Advisory for MA Moelis Australia.

He has over 20 years’ investment banking experience, with particular expertise advising clients in the consumer, agribusiness and general industrial sectors and extensive experience across public and private buy-side and sell-side processes, equity capital markets transactions and strategic advisory mandates.

Prior to joining MA Moelis Australia, he worked for ABN AMRO / RBS as a Director in the Investment Banking Group

Brodie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Masters in International Relations from the London School of Economics (Honours).

Chris is a Managing Director in Corporate Advisory for MA Moelis Australia.

He focuses on business services, industrial services and private equity transactions and has over 15 years’ experience in investment banking.

Prior to joining MA Moelis Australia, Chris was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Group of Investec and previously a Partner and Head of Industrials for KPMG Corporate Finance.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Sydney University.

Simon is a Managing Director in Corporate Advisory for MA Moelis Australia.

He is Head of Markets and has over 20 years’ experience in Australian financial markets primarily in the equities division of global investment banks including Credit Suisse, CitiGroup and Goldman Sachs.

Prior to joining MA Moelis Australia, he operated his own company where he provided advisory services to real estate companies and co-founded CorVal Partners, a boutique real estate funds management business.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland and a Master of Commerce from the University of Sydney.

Bryan Johnson is a Managing Director and Head of Equity Sales at MA Moelis Australia.

Bryan has 17 years’ industry experience in emerging company research, sales and corporate finance including roles at JP Morgan and Elders Ltd.

He has broad experience across a range of sectors including contractors, agriculture and technology.

He has a diverse client base, including many of Australia’s most prominent small to mid-cap fund managers.

Bryan holds a degree in Finance as well as an Honours degree in Economics from the University of Adelaide. He also holds a Master of Applied Finance degree from Finsia. 

Edward (Ed) Day is a Managing Director and Head of Equity Research at MA Moelis Australia.

Ed has 12 years’ industry experience in corporate advisory and equity markets.

He previously worked with PPB Advisory and EY.

Ed has broad sector experience with specific experience on REITs and real estate.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice and Bachelor of Commerce from Flinders University and has completed the Chartered Accountants Program.
